Participatory Cycle of Inquiry

The first set of tools were designed to assist a very small group of foundation leaders engage in a Participatory Cycle of Inquiry to consider the merits of stepping up as leaders of a foundation-wide change process. In this section, we have also provided tools to get started in building trust and supportive relationships among your foundation leaders, and to launch the personal learning needed to play a leadership role in change around diversity and equity. These same tools can be drawn on again and again as your team prepares others for leadership in this diversity and equity work.

Formatting Note:
Most of the tools and resources in the following sections are presented as PDFs. These files can be used to print the document for use in the workshops, dialogues, and planning meetings you facilitate with foundation stakeholders. The following suggestions should be helpful to you as you prepare materials packets for your various sessions. Text only resources can be printed on regular 8.5 x 11 size paper. LBE Tools that feature special graphics and color were designed in Microsoft Publisher Formats then converted to pdfs. These are best copied using the text/photo function of copy machines and should be printed double-sided. The two-page tools can be printed double-sided on 8.5 x 11 size paper. Four page documents were designed to be printed double-sided on newsletter 11 x 17 size paper (if this feature is unavailable on your copy machine you may wish to have them printed at a local copy center). Finally, the LBE Resource Book Cover can either be printed on laser paper (for insertion in clear plastic front covers of 3-Ring binders) or printed in color on full page 8.5 x 11 Avery Labels (which can then be affixed to work folders).
